We teach you, how to set up Outlook 2013 with Hosting. Your email server settings, applied to your version of Outlook, in a step by step guide with images and practical examples.
Microsoft Outlook is a part of Microsoft Office so if you don't have it, you will need to install it or use free alternatives like Mozilla Thunderbird. This tutorial is also available for other devices like PC, Android, Mac and Iphone, just choose your option from our menu.
Open Outlook 2013
This is probably not the first time you open Outlook, and as such no window should pop up to help you set up your email. It's not a problem, because this is all you need to do to set up your email account:
If this is the first time you open Outlook, then a window should pop up to help you set up your email. If you take that help then you'll be skipping our first few steps, but everything will be just the same a little further ahead.
On the File tab under Info select Add account
Select Manual setup or additional server types
Select POP or IMAP
As an example, we created a fake user:
Name: Peter Smith
Replace our fake user info by your own name, email and password, and set up according to the images bellow
Incoming mail server (POP3): mail.techsmith.com
Port 995 with an SSL encrypted connection
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.techsmith.com
Port 465 with an SSL encrypted connection
The outgoing server requires authentication, using the same settings as the incoming mail server
Don't leave message copies on the server for more than 3 or 4 days, because the more you keep, the closer you get to your storage limit, resulting in errors that prevent sending and recieving emails (even if you delete them from Outlook).
